EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIP & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (ERFA)

As part of its corporate social responsibility, SZABIST facilitates its students and employees by providing financial assistance. The forms of financial assistance available are scholarships and fee concession.

Scholarships are offered through SZABIST resources and those in collaboration with external donor agencies. Below is the list of scholarships presently available at SZABIST Larkana Campus.

All scholarships cover full or partial tuition fee, however, in some cases scholarships also cover books, boarding, transportation, monthly stipend and admission fee

A fair and transparent process is adopted to select the students for these scholarships. The process involves short listing of candidates on the basis of objective criteria, followed by a panel interview to assess the candidates’ financial eligibility. In case of scholarships funded by external donor agencies, the selection process also includes physical verification of student’s information prior to award of the scholarship.

Financial Assistance Provided by SZABIST

Scholarships are funded by means of the institute’s funds, these include the SZABIST Merit-Based and SZABIST Foundation Scholarship. For these scholarships, the Management and BoTs have identified objective criteria on the basis of which financial aid is provided to the deserving students. In the case of the Merit-Based scholarships are awarded to students with the highest GPA in each section and the SZABIST Foundation Scholarship is purely need-based.

Fee concession is provided to all students, irrespective of their financial status, in a number of academic programs. This is aimed to reduce the cost of education for students in general and increase enrollment in those specific programs.

Fee installments are provided to the students who cannot pay their fees at one time. The students can pay their fee in easy installments depending on the income they are providing.

SZABIST Need – Based Scholarship

SZABIST Need-based Scholarship is provided to the students on the basis of need but students are also required to maintain a GPA up to 2.5. The annual family income of students should be lower than PKR 900,000. Candidates are thoroughly examined by the scholarship committee and after recommendations, a physical verification exercise is done for the confirmation of the data provided by the candidates in their application forms.    

SZABIST Foundation

This is purely a need-based scholarship provided by SZABIST Foundation in supervision of Chairperson SZABIST. This scholarship is awarded to the needy students who are unable to pay their tuition fee. Candidates are thoroughly examined by the scholarship committee and after recommendations a physical verification exercise is done for the confirmation of the data provided by the candidates in their application forms.

SZABIST Merit-based Scholarship

This scholarship is provided by SZABIST to the students securing highest GPA in their respective batches.

  • Obtained a minimum semester GPA of 3.75.
  • Taken full load of courses during regular semesters i.e. fall and spring, both for calculation of Semester GPA and availing the scholarship.
  • Students with extra and repeat courses are not eligible for the Scholarship.
  • Students enrolled in subsidized programs are not eligible for the Scholarship.
  • If there is more than one student with same results in a semester, then the scholarship amount will be distributed equally among the eligible candidates.
  • Upon maintaining the same status, the scholarship may be extended for the next semester, provided the criteria are met for that semester.
  • In case of other claimant (if any) with higher Semester GPA, respective scholarship will be withdrawn and the amount will be adjusted.
  • The above scholarship guidelines are subject to change at any time and for any semester as approved by Academic Heads, and will be applicable to all new and continuing students.
  • The scholarship program can be withdrawn at any time as approved by the Academic Council.
Financial Assistance Provided by External – Donor Agencies

The external agencies with which SZABIST collaborates for scholarships are; United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Sindh Endowment Fund, Baluchistan Endowment Fund, SANA Fame, Police Shaheed quota (children of martyrs of Sind Police), Ihsan Trust, United Memon Jamat of Pakistan and Ayesha Abdul Fatah Memon Scholarship program
In order to meet the specific criteria stipulated by each agency, candidates are thoroughly evaluated through in-depth interviews.

SANA FAME

Scholarship Coverage
Five SANA scholarships are awarded to deserving female candidates of SZABIST Larkana Campus each year commencing from Fall 2018.
Each selected candidate will be awarded $1000 annually from first year onwards till the fourth year covering;

  1. Admission fee (one-time)
  2. Security Deposit (one-time)
  3. Tuition fee of two semesters
Ayesha Abdul Fatah Memon Scholarship

This is a need-cum-merit based scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to students in every semester.
Eligibility Criteria;
a. GPA in previous semester must be 3 or above.
b. Candidate must be needy

Pak -USAID

This is a merit-cum-need based scholarship program covering all expenses of awardees respective to their degree programs. Basic criteria of this scholarship is student`s family income must be less than 45000/per month.

United Memon Jamat of Pakistan

This scholarship is provided to students belonging to Memon Community studying in SZABIST Lakana Campus from all over Pakistan.
This scholarship covers tuition fees of awardees.

Public Social Responsibility

PSR is a social cause activity in SZABIST Larkana Campus in which financial support is provided to the deserving and needy students.

Scholarship for children of Shaheed Police Personnel

SZABIST signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sindh Police in order to provide free education to the children of martyrs of Sindh Police.
Scholarship Coverage

  1. Admission fee (one-time)
  2. Tuition fee
Sindh Education Endowment Scholarship

The government of Sindh through education endowment provides this scholarship to SZABIST Larkana Campus; this requires candidates to have a Sindh domicile and an annual family income of less than PKR 15,000,000.

Baluchistan Endowment Fund

This requires a candidate to have a Baluchistan domicile, and 60% marks in intermediate.

Ihsan Trust’s Qarz-e-Hasna (Interest – Free Loan) Facility


To apply for this Loan facility Applicant’s annual family income should be less than or equal to Rs. 600,000 with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
