Introduction

In alignment with the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC), SZABIST University Larkana proudly launches its Mentoring Program for Universities (MPU) 2026. This initiative is designed to foster leadership, professional development, and an inclusive academic culture within the university.

Understanding the evolving socio-cultural and professional landscape of Pakistan, SZABIST Larkana has developed a comprehensive mentoring framework that extends beyond faculty and administrative staff to include student peer mentoring. This approach ensures that mentorship becomes a continuous learning process across all levels of the university.

The program connects mentors and mentees in a structured, goal-oriented relationship where mentors act as guides, coaches, and role models, supporting mentees in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals. Through this initiative, SZABIST University Larkana aims to create a dynamic environment that promotes confidence, collaboration, leadership, and lifelong learning, while strengthening connections within the university community

Program Objectives

To establish a structured mentoring culture at SZABIST University Larkana.
To support academic, professional, and personal development of faculty, staff, and students.
To develop leadership and career planning capabilities.
To promote an inclusive and collaborative environment.
To provide networking opportunities with faculty, peers, alumni, and industry professionals.
To introduce and strengthen peer mentoring among students for academic and personal growth.

Program Categories

1. Faculty & Administrative Mentorship

This category focuses on the professional development of faculty members and administrative staff by providing guidance in:

Career progression and advancement
Leadership and management skills
Academic growth and research collaboration
Professional networking and exposure

2. Peer Mentoring Program (Students)

The Peer Mentoring Program is designed to empower students through structured peer-to-peer support:

Peer Mentors (Senior Students): Guide, support, and mentor junior students
Peer Mentees (Junior Students): Receive academic, personal, and career guidance

This initiative promotes:

Leadership development among students
Confidence and communication skills
Academic success and adaptability

A strong and supportive student community

Eligibility Criteria

Mentor Eligibility (Faculty/Staff)

Must be a regular faculty or management member
Minimum 5 years of experience in higher education (including leadership roles)
Strong understanding of the academic environment
Possess qualities such as empathy, commitment, active listening, and motivation

Mentee Eligibility (Faculty/Staff)

Faculty or administrative staff member
Early to mid-career professionals seeking development
Senior professionals may join for specific skill enhancement

Peer Mentor Eligibility (Students)

Senior students with good academic standing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated leadership potential
Willingness to support and guide peers

Peer Mentee Eligibility (Students)

Junior or mid-level students
Willing to learn and grow
Open to feedback and mentorship

Program Duration

The Mentoring Program will be conducted over a period of three (03) months:

April 2026 – June 2026

The meeting was chaired by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐙𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐀𝐛𝐫𝐨, Chairperson MPC and Vice Chairperson GEIIC, Head of Campus, SZABIST University Larkana.

The meeting focused on Reviewing the effectiveness of the program and finalizing the process to be followed for the effective implementation of the Mentorship Programme moving forward.
