Details & Semester Outlines for MSMS

SZABIST Larkana offers MS degree in the specialized areas of Human Resource Management, Marketing and Finance. The MS program will be an evening program and all classes are held during week days. There will be two streams available for MS. One Stream will be by Course Work and other one will by Research. By Course Work Stream, the student will be required to complete 10 courses of 3 credit hours each. By Research Work Stream, the student will be required to complete 8 Courses and Two IRS OR One Thesis of 6 Credit Hours. In both the streams, 30 Credit hours to be completed. The time limit to earn an MS degree is from 1.5 years to 4 years. As per HEC guidelines, all MS students are required to clear GAT General Test or HAT with minimum 50% score.

In Course Work Stream, the student is required to complete 10 courses of 3 credit hours each. The Scheme of Study is as follows:
– Six Compulsory Courses (18 Credit Hours)
– Four Electives (12 Credit Hours)
– No IRS or Thesis

In the Research Work Stream, the student is required to complete 8 Courses and Two IRS OR one Thesis of Six Credit hours. The Scheme of Study is as follows:

– Six Compulsory Courses (18 Credit Hours)
– Two Electives (6 Credit Hours)
– Two IRS or One Thesis (6 Credit Hours)

In both the streams, 30 Credit hours are to be completed.

Elective courses may vary from time to time. All courses may not necessarily be o?ered every year. Alternate courses may be substituted as and when required. In both the streams, students cannot register in Independent Research Study (IRS) OR thesis without completing 6 compulsory courses. Maximum course load for a semester is 4 courses (12 credit hours). Summer is not a regular semester; therefore, courses are not o?ered on a regular basis in summer. A student can take maximum two interdisciplinary elective courses in SS/CS/IT/Media/MBA program with the prior approval of respective program managers.
